Welcome to the Trac for freenode's Group Management System (GMS)
This Trac install is here to better help GMS contributors collaborate with each other outside of irc.
Group Management System (GMS) is the future -- well, it is the future way of managing your project/group on freenode. By popular demand and a lot of useful feedback from users we have taken the plunge and started working on a web-based control panel/dashboard to make it easier for you as Group Contacts to manage your projects namespace on freenode.
GMS will ideally make it easier for you to track and manage channels within your namespace, access lists, bans, topics, and the like, in addition to giving you an easy way to apply project cloaks to your contributors.
Ideally, we would also like to provide a function allowing you to log your channels and tie the logs to your part of GMS -- making them publically visible or, should you prefer, visible only to group members.
GMS will with time allow you to create your own APIs and hook into GMS, helping you better connect and control the flow of things such as your commits, bug trackers etc etc
The simple idea behind GMS is to allow you to spend less time fiddling with services and channel modes, giving you more time to work on your project.
freenode hosts a variety of really amazing projects -- and we are very excited to be working on something new and useful to help these projects better collaborate and share code, knowledge and information without wasting time on unnecessary and tedious tasks.
Here you can find our bug tracker, roadmap and wiki -- the wiki also has some useful information about GMS and how to get involved.
You can find us on irc.freenode.net in #freenode-gms -- feel free to pop in and speak with us! We are particulary keen on hearing your suggestions on how we can make GMS the best it can be for groups/projects using freenode.
The speculative specifications can be found here.
Enjoy!
